Echinacea × hybrida Artisan™ Red Ombre
Hybrid Coneflower
|
USDA Zone: 4-9 |
A new hybrid seed Coneflower bred to produce consistency of plant structure for uniform and highly branched, full plants. This selection, part of the Artisan™ Collection, produces very large, single flowers with petals that open red and age to rusty-orange shades surrounding a spiky, gold-brown cone centre. Ideal for sunny borders and growing in mixed containers. Attractive to butterflies. Excellent for cutting. Coneflowers begin blooming midsummer and continue for months if faded flowers are regularly removed. However, keeping some dried flower heads on the plants in fall will provide food for wintering songbirds. Dried seed heads also add interest to the winter garden. Photography © Ball Seed
