Vermiculite is an expanded micaceous mineral that is lightweight, clean and odorless. It has excellent properties for improving soil aeration while retaining the moisture and nutrient in a peat-based soil.
Well suited for seed cover when germinating seeds as it maintains proper moisture. Improves nutrient holding and exchange properties of soil and potting mixes, and thus facilitates better use of fertilizer by plants. Improves aeration and water-holding capacity of potting mixes and therefore decreases watering requirement.
