Spearmint has a less strong flavour with fruity undertones than peppermint. This mint spreads quickly and is simple to grow. This herb is adaptable and can be used in beverages, sauces, preserves, meat and vegetable dishes, and baking. It can spread via underground rhizomes in wetlands, although this can be easily controlled by cultivating it in containers.
Companion plants: Brassicas, Yarrow, Potato, Petunia, Tomato, Squash, Eggplant, Bell Peppers, Lettuce. 
Far from: Chamomile, Parsley, Garlic, Onion.
Planting tip: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outside in early spring. Pinch off the top sets of leaves regularly starting at the seedling stage for a bushier, healthier plant. Transplant outside when plant is 3-4” tall. For healthier water deeply for healthy root system.
Harvesting tip: Pick often for higher production. Leaves can be harvested starting first year.
